The greens are recently aerated, same cost for green fees. Seems like there is very little staff as the round took over 5 1/2 hours to play with no real presence of anyone to manage pace. Clubhouse was completely empty when we arrived.

Are used to play this course a couple of times a month years ago, and it seemed to be in much better shape and better management. I think I’ll wait before I try this one again.

Tee boxes are in horrible shape. If it rains at all, the course will hold it all and be wet! Greens are excellent shape, and roll true.

Positives: Course was wide open, played in 3.5 hours. Great layout with some interesting risk / reward decisions. Good gas carts (needed for all those hills). Greens are in good condition. Decent range and practice area.

Negatives: Besides the greens, the course condition is not good. Dirt patch tee boxes and burnt out fairways. Had some center of fairway balls run off into hazards because of the hardpack in the fairways. Not the worst I've ever seen, but too close to it for what is supposed to be a higher-end public course. One person working the pro-shop and one at the grill, but besides that, didn't see any other staff (no starter, no ranger on course, no cart truck). Could see how this backs up on a busy day. Practice area is nice, but lower quality range balls.

In summary, This course has all the raw materials to be an incredible spot, but it needs some attention. If it was in better shape, better managed they could command a $100+ greens fee, but in it's current state, it's ~$75 fee feels overpriced. 4/5 might seem high given my review, but I put a premium on fast play and that's what we had today.

I'll start with the good. They have a very beautiful scenery for the course. Their food is delicious but I thought way overpriced until I saw their serving sizes. The sandwiches are for 2 people for sure. A sandwich and soda was 25 bucks. Now the bad. The course fairways have huge areas needing maintenance. Several tee boxes have severe need of maintenance and their sand traps are horribly poorly filled and taken care of. The 18th is 20% rocks in it. They've made no attempt to rake the sand throughout the trap. I play 3 to 4 times a week and this is by far the worst value for $85 I've played on in 3 states. For $65 Greensboro National or Stoney Point is much better value.

Course has a great layout and everything besides the tee boxes were in great shape. I will never understand 9 minute tee time spacing for a course like this. 9:06 tee time and already behind 2 groups for the day so we started about 9:30 and waited before every tee shot and approach. 9 minute tee time windows imply that groups should play in 2:45 hours?

Overall course is fun and challenging but be prepared for long wait times and a long round.

Had not played this course in several years until this weekend. It is not in good shape. The tee boxes are not well kept. The course has many many sand traps, both near the greens and in the fairways, that are deep with high faces. All the traps have been neglected and are in terrible condition. Many had standing water and were mostly muddy.

Very disapointed. Booked tee time a week in advance. Bad weather must have rolled in the day or night before. The back nine was closed on arrival for a 1pm tee time. At the pro shop our group was told "Good news bad news." Bad news, driving range and back nine are closed. Good news is if you only want to play 9, we will only charge for 9 holes. So...whats the good news? You can play front 9 2x and we will charge for 18 holes. So.....no good news.
The course has our email to confirm tee time. It would have been greatly appreciated to email back stating the conditions and situatio so we could have made alternate plans at a different course.
Instead, increadibly slow pace of play due to long back ups in the tee box, which were in terrible condition. After 17 holes and almost 6 hours we called it a day. Greens were just airatted so they were terrible. This was not mentioned in the clubhouse either. Maybe close the course?
Its a beutiful course and would have like to seen all 18 on a good day, but i know thats not in their controll. What was, is giving us the option to go to another intact course in the area instaed of showing up that afternoo with no other options for the day.
Plus as its a semi private course members, mostly teenage groups and singles, just drive on the course and start playong wherever they want to. That helped pace of play.
Wont be coming back, although I dont think they care as no one was monitorig the course.

Showed up on time for a 10:45 tee time. Starter told us that they were 2 cards behind. By hole 2 the marshals were telling us that we were 30 minutes behind pace (we played 2 holes in 27 minutes including a par 5). The good part is that the course is gorgeous. Unfortunately, their marshals blamed the slow pace of play (caused by the starter) on us and we missed a hole. Hope your experience is better.
